Beaches
Playa Palmilla
Upon Punta Palmilla rests the luxurious Hotel Palmilla with its striking beaches. Inside the tranquil bay the beach along this protected cove is perfect for improving your tan, snorkeling, watching the pelicans perform their aerobatics, or catching up on that long unread novel. Snorkeling and diving equipment can be rented at the dive shop, located just before the hotel grounds. Follow the signs to Hotel Palmilla at Km. 27. The entrance to the beach is just before Pepe's Restaurant.
Playa El Medano
Medano Beach encompasses several miles of safe swimming beach beginning at the east side of the harbor entrance all the way to Villa del Palmar on the east end of the bay. Close to town, Medano Beach is the main and most popular Cabo San Lucas Beach. Here, hotels, bars and restaurants compete for space, offering all the goodies most people come to expect from a popular vacation destination.

Lover's Beach
Once known as Playa de Doña Chepa, Lover's Beach is another must, but to get to this hidden cove you'll need a water taxi. We suggest you pack a picnic and plan on spending the day enjoying Lover's Beach and the striking rock formations. Swimming and snorkeling can be enjoyed on the Sea of Cortez side of Lover's Beach.
Playa Chileno
On weekends, it's popular with the locals, however, it's not too congested on weekdays. With an amazing reef, Chileno is perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving. For kids, there are tide pools at
the east end of the beach. A grove of palm trees offers much needed shade, and you'll find a dive shop with kayak and equipment rentals, public restrooms and shower facilities. Look for the large red and white dive sign marking the parking lot at Kilometer 14.
Playa Santa Maria
As you gaze out to the cobalt sea you will see the peaceful horseshoe shaped beach. Relatively secluded, Bahía Santa María is a protected marine sanctuary, so bring along a bag of bread or tortillas and feed the multicolored creatures of the deep. If you want to see a world of friendly colorful tropical fish, this is the place to go. Calm mornings are best for optimal underwater visibility.
